Student Nutrition Program Overview
Our Student Nutrition Department proudly offers healthy, balanced meals each school day through the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). These programs ensure all students have access to nutritious meals that meet strict USDA standards for whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, low-fat dairy, and sensible portion sizes.
Breakfast and lunch are available to every student, with free and reduced-price benefits for families who qualify. Menus are planned to support student health, academic success, and overall well-being. We are committed to providing safe, high-quality meals and creating a positive dining experience for all students.
Meal prices as follows: Free/reduced status- free meals
Paid meals: Students $1.95 breakfast, 2.95 lunch
Cafeteria Change Policy
Cafeteria Charge Policy
Students may charge up to the value of ten meals. If a balance becomes greater than the value of 10 meals, the student will be notified they must choose the lowest cost entrée item offered that day. They will still be in line with other students, and not overtly identified during service, but they will be provided the lower cost entrée . A la Carte items are not available for charging.
Deposits may be made into meal accounts by sending cash or check with the student in an envelope marked with child's name and student ID# OR with a credit or debit card by accessing the PaySchools (formerly LUNCH MONEY NOW) link found on the NISD website. Parents may monitor meal accounts at the same site and set notifications for a low balance.
No Change Policy
Normangee ISD has a no change policy in place for our cashier stations. When a student pays cash/check for a meal or an a la carte item and is due change, it will be applied to his/her account.

PaySchools formerly Lunch Money Now
Lunch Money Now has changed to PaySchools Central, a modern, cloud-based system that offers a more secure and user-friendly experience for managing school meals and fees.
You’ll need to create a new PaySchools Central account, but don’t worry—all current balances will transfer automatically. The new platform is easy to use and only requires one-time setup.

Our district’s SHAC helps ensure that our school environment supports healthy choices and positive outcomes for all students.

Triennial Assessment-Wellness Policy
What Is a Triennial Assessment?
A Triennial Assessment is a required review of our district’s Local School Wellness Policy that takes place every three years. Its purpose is to evaluate how well we are following the policy, measure progress toward our wellness goals, and identify areas for improvement. The results help ensure our schools continue to support student health, nutrition, and well-being.
Triennial Assessment Update
Our district has completed its most recent Triennial Assessment at the end of the 2024 school year for Local School Wellness Policy. This review looked at how well our schools are implementing wellness goals related to nutrition, physical activity, and overall student well‑being. Results showed strong progress in several areas and identified opportunities for continued improvement. The findings help guide our ongoing efforts to create a healthier school environment for all students and will be reviewed for future revisions of our Wellness Policy.
