Cafeteria Charge Policy Effective 8/14/2024
Students may charge up to the value of ten meals. ($28.50 or less). If a balance becomes greater than $28.50-, the student will be notified they must choose the lowest cost entrée item offered that day. They will still be in line with other students, and not overtly identified during service, but they will be provided the lower cost entrée . A la Carte items are not available for charging. Deposits may be made into meal accounts by sending cash or check with the student in an envelope marked with child's name and student ID# OR with a credit or debit card by accessing the LUNCH MONEY NOW link found on the NISD website https://www.normangeeisd.org. Parents may monitor meal accounts at the same site and set notifications for a low balance. You will need to have the student’s last four (4) digits of their SSN, birth date and student ID# in the automated system in order to create an account and access this information. Student ID# are available from the school office or the cafeteria.
Negative Balances
All negative accounts above $28.50 will be identified to the business office. Payment plans are available as needed. The cafeteria will continue to attempt collection of monies owed to the Child Nutrition Department until the total balance is paid.
At the end of each school year, all balances either have a zero or a positive balance. All positive accounts will roll-over to the next school year, however, negative balances must be paid in full. All negative balances will be sent to the business office and notification will continue to be sent until they are paid. Payment plans are available.
No Change Policy
We will not be giving back ANY change this year. If your child brings cash it will be applied to his/her account! Please make sure you put money on your child’s cafeteria account through Lunch Money Now.
